About Carmelita Iezzi

A visual language of silence, suspended between nature, memory and the human figure.

Carmelita Iezzi is an award-winning Italian visual artist, fine art photographer, and professional graphic based in Italy. With a solid academic background — having graduated from Art School specializing in Photography & Graphic Design, followed by a BA in Fine Art Photography at the Design Academy in Italy — she has cultivated extensive expertise spanning web design, visual graphics, advanced post-production, and art direction.

Her profound passion for the arts blossomed at an early age. When she was just 14 years old, she began capturing the world through a 35mm analog camera, mastering the alchemy of film and manual printing in the darkroom. Over the years, her travels around the globe have continuously challenged and enriched her artistic perspective, fusing her deep cultural background with new visual languages and narratives that fuel her endless creativity.

Carmelita has developed a distinctive, highly recognizable style centered around landscape photography and conceptual portraits. Deeply rooted in her studies of graphic design and art history, her work is defined by the artist herself simply as “Storytelling.”

Her imagery captures silent, suspended moments, unfolding like pictorial poems. She transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, transcending time, distorting the conventional order of things, and breathing life into worlds that exist solely within the boundaries of the unconscious and dreams — surrealistic, evocative, and profoundly emotional.

Driven by a fascination with surrealism, her artistic focus relies heavily on natural light, favoring strong, dramatic contrasts that characterize both her monochrome and color compositions. Through a poetic and unique vision, she invites the viewer into a quiet stillness of emotion, meditating on the harmonious yet mysterious relationship between nature and the human figure.

My work is defined by one word: Storytelling.
